Upcoming IdeaPad netbook leaked by the FCC
Lenovo's upcoming Intel Pineview based IdeaPad netbook has been leaked out onto the interweb thanks to none other than the FCC itself. SlashGear was the first site to pick up on this and it looks like we've got a very decent looking netbook to look forward too from Lenovo in the near future.
Specification wise it's not that exciting apart from the 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor based on Intel's Pineview architecture. The good news is that it will feature 2GB of DDR2 667MHz memory, up from the 1GB limit on previous netbooks and this suggests that it will also ship with Windows 7 Home basic.

The netbook hard drive size limit combined with Windows 7 is 250GB and Lenovo has fitted a 5,400rpm Seagate unit that is exactly 250GB. Other features include a 10.1-inch display which sadly only offers 1,024x600 resolution, what appears to be an Intel 802.11n WiFi solution and a chicklet type keyboard. Oddly enough the track pad seems to be missing buttons which is an interesting design take, but not a first.

For those that like to dig around the innards of their netbook, there's a large removable cover for the hard drive and the memory at the bottom which should make it easy to perform upgrades. Finally the netbook has a 30W power adapter and a 2.2AH battery, so we'd guess it ships with a 3-cell unit as standard which means that it won't give you more than maybe 3-4h of usage.

The new netbook should launch in January next year, but Intel hasn't given a definite launch date for the Pineview platform as yet, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
