A promotional video of LG’s upcoming Chocolate BL20 handset has appeared on YouTube and it’s demoing a few of the new features of the handset, including what LG calls Text Scan which allows you to use the camera to snap pictures of hand written notes.
Now we don’t think people will go and throw away their scanners just because LG has added a camera option that specialized in recognizing text, especially as there’s no OCR function, but it’s still a handy feature none the less. The camera itself offers 5 Megapixels and LG has also fitted an LED photo light.
Other features include a 2.4-inch screen, a slide-out keypad, touch sensitive buttons below the screen, HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and 130MB of built in memory. It does of course also play back video and music.
You can find some hands on pictures of the handset here from IFA.
