phoenix_logoSeeing is believing as they say and the video from Engadget that you’ll see after the break at least made us a believer in this new technology from Phoenix Technology, as we’ve never seen a notebook boot so fast before.

Normally booting up your PC is a time wasting procedure and that is why so many people leave their notebooks in standby mode. However, judging by the video below, there’s no reason to leave your notebook in standby any more, as Phoenix Instant Boot BIOS technology in combination with Windows 7 actually boots quicker than the time it takes to get most notebooks back to the desktop from hibernation.

The new highly optimized UEFI implementation from Phoneix Technologies actually post in less than two seconds, although the entire boot up process takes a little bit longer, but the Lenovo T400s fitted with an SSD took a mere 10 seconds to the desktop from when the power button was pressed. A retrofitted Dell Adamo with a hard drive took 20 seconds, which is still more than passable in our book.
