Today we take a quick look at some upcoming notebooks from MSI, namely the new FX and X series. All three of these new models feature Intel Core i processors, although they all target quite different market segments.
First up we have the new X360 which in terms of design is very similar to past 13.3-inch X-series models. However, the big change is in the internals, as this model features a Core i5-520UM processor in lieu of the CULV processors found in the previous generation. MSI claims up to 10h battery life with the optional 8-cell battery pack, although the default battery is a weak 4-cell unit.

Next up we have the FX400 which uses a standard Core i processor, although we’re not sure which CPU models MSI will fit. This is a 14-inch notebook and it features an Nvidia GeForce GT325M graphics card and Nvidia’s Optimus technology which allows for on the fly graphics switching between the discreet GPU and the Intel IGP inside the CPU. It also features a built in optical drive, an eSATA port, HDMI, three USB 2.0 ports and a multi-touch touch pad.

The third and final new model is the FX600 which is the 15.6-inch sibling to the FX400. It has the same features as the FX400, although its larger physical size allows for a numerical keypad as part of the keyboard. The design and port layout is also slightly different. Both models offer 1366×768 resolution displays, so there’s no real difference in terms of what can be displayed. We’ll bring you more details on these new models come Computex. And do check out the video of all three models below the pictures.
