M1 Singapore first with 28Mbit HSPA+ in Asia
M1 (Mobile One) Singapore is the first network provider in Asia to offer 28Mbit HSPA+ speeds on its network by using MIMO (Multiple-input, Multiple-output) technology, similar to that used in 802.11n WiFi networks.
Although the speed increase is only available in parts of its network at the moment, M1 is intending to roll out the upgrade across its entire network over the next few months. The upgrade has been performed by Huawei which is also set to upgrade the rest of M1's network.
M1 will also be offering a nation wide 21Mbit HSDPA network from the 3rd of October which should boost the speed for all of its current users that has hardware capable of taking advantage of the speed increase.
