hp_logoHP’s product catalogue for the rest of this year has leaked and it contains a few goodies that we’re going to cover after the break. It seems that the dv3 will live on, despite the introduction of the dm3 and it has even been given an upgrade, but this is only part of the goodies in the new line-up from HP.

The dv3 has been upgraded with a capacitive touch screen display, much like the one used by the AMD powered tx2, albeit larger at 13.3-inches. The main reason for the touch screen seems to be that the dv3 will start shipping with Windows 7 as soon as it launches.

All of HP’s netbooks have also been upgraded to Windows 7, but it seems like HP is sticking with the starter edition. With Windows 7, the 160GB hard drive limitation of netbooks have been upgraded to 250GB, so you’ll also find 250GB hard drives in HP’s netbooks that ships with Windows 7.

The dm1 has also been confirmed and it’s indeed an 11.6-inch model with a CULV processor, although there’s no word on which processors will be available as yet. There’s a mention of optional discrete graphics, although there’s no mention as to what this option would be. It’s meant to come with up to 5GB of DDR2 memory (although we have no idea how this is done with only two DIMM slots), up to 500GB hard drive, three USB 2.0 ports, a webcam, a memory card reader and up to 9h battery life. The dm1 will be available in either black or white with a fancy pattern on the lid.

Finally the dv8 is HP’s more consumer friendly Core i7 based 18.4-inch monster notebook which offers 1,920×1,080 display resolution, an Nvidia Geforce GT 230M graphics card with 1GB of graphics memory, up to 1TB of hard drive space, a built in TV-tuner, a low-light webcam, a memory card reader, a finger print scanner, a Blu-ray drive and a remote controller. We’d also expect to see HDMI as part of the spec of this gaming and entertainment behemoth.

There’s no word on pricing or availability on either model as yet, but one thing that is very clear is that HP is going to upgrade all of its models to Windows 7 as soon as the new operating system becomes available.
