thumb_hp_envy_13_frontThe specs for the HP Envy 13 of which pictures leaked out earlier today has now finally made their way onto the web. Surprisingly it wasn’t quite what we and most other websites expected, but that’s not really a bad thing in this case.

Rather than using one of Intel’s CULV processors, HP went for a more standard Low Voltage processor, namely the Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 which is clocked at 1.86GHz and features 6MB of L2 cache. This on its own should give it a pretty nice boost in performance, but also in price over CULV based notebooks.

HP has also managed to squeeze in an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics card with 512MB of dedicated graphics memory. The chipset of choice is most likely the Intel GS45, but it’s not listed in the spec list.

The Envy 13 comes with 3GB of DDR3 memory and a fairly paltry 250GB SATA hard drive of unspecified type, but most likely a 5,400rpm unit to keep the heat down. Other features include 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet (the port is built in to the charger as with some previous Envy notebooks), optional Bluetooth, an HDMI port, a memory card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, a combo headphone/mic jack and a webcam with built in microphone.

It too comes with an external optical drive, but in this case we’re expecting just a standard USB drive, as the Envy 13 doesn’t have an eSATA connector. Now here’s the really interesting part and most likely what that external connector at the bottom is for, the Envy 13 comes with both a 4-cell and a 6-cell battery and the the two can be combined, we should see some amazing battery life out of the Envy 13.

It also seems like we very very close in our predictions of the touchpad, despite missing out the fact that it would be multi-touch, it does have an on/off button and a dedicated vertical scroll pad. The Envy 13 measures 320x215x20.5mm (WxDxH) and weighs in at a very respectable 1.7kg, although this would be with the 4-cell battery fitted. As with the Envy 15, the Envy 13 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Again there’s no price, but you can find a few more details here
