HP’s Voodoo division has always come up with some interesting designs, if unattainably expensive for mere mortals. However, the latest addition from HP carries the Envy branding, but seems to have dropped the Voodoo name all together, but that doesn’t make the Envy 13 any less desirable.

HP designs are always quite pleasing on the eye, but the Envy 13 has managed to mix both consumer and business appeal into a single sleek looking notebook. As the name suggests, the Envy 13 has a 13.3-inch display and the display panel is protected by a glass screen that is known as HP BrightView Infinity.

The touch pad is also using a new design that we haven’t seen from HP before, albeit it doesn’t quite seem to be of Apple click design either. It has no physical buttons, but there’s a tiny line in the middle of the touch pad that seems to indicate left and right button. There’s also a small dot on the top left corner which we’d guess is used for enabling and disabling the touch pad.

There aren’t much in terms of hardware specifications, but our best guess would be that it’s based on the Intel CULV platform, at least judging by how thin the Envy 13 is. It seems to only have a pair of USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI connector and a headphone socket on the right hand side, while the only port visible in the picture on the left hand side is what appears to be a connector for the charger, although it also looks like there’s a memory card reader located here.

HP has gone for a large, flush fitted, bottom mounted Li-polymer battery for the Envy 13 and as such the bottom is very flat. Unusually there’s a small connector on the bottom of the Envy 13 which combined with four little holes (two at the rear, two at the front) is suggest that HP might either be offering an optional extend battery pack or some kind of docking slice with an optical drive for the Envy 13.

According to Rahul Sood’s Twitter account, we might be seeing the Envy 13 launching as soon as tomorrow. More pictures and details here in Italian.
