thumb_gateway_ec18t_1Gateway is getting ready to launch a Windows 7 powered CULV tablet PC. With an 11.6-inch display, the EC18T as it will be known as, does offer some interesting features that should appeal to those that want a compact notebook with a touch screen display.

The specifications are still a little bit thin on the ground, but the EC18T should have a Core 2 Duo processor, the Intel GS45 chipset and up to 4GB of DDR3 memory. As you can see from the pictures it also has an HDMI port, three USB 2.0 ports, a pair of audio jacks, a memory card reader, a webcam, an Ethernet port and a D-sub connector.

The EC18T should of course have features such as WiFi (there’s what appears to be an on/off switch at the front), Bluetooth and so forth. The screen resolution will most likely be 1,366×768 and the EC18T seems to have a similar keyboard to Gateway’s (and Acers for that matter) other 11.6-inch notebooks and netbooks.

The design looks pretty good and judging by the pictures, the EC18T will come in at least red and black. The battery appears to be a 6-cell model, so battery life should be decent as well.
