frame_0_thumbAlthough the Frame 0 is just a design concept from Fujitsu at this stage, it’s one of the most radical changes to the notebook as we know it that we’ve seen as of recently. The company has just revealed a few additional details and pictures of this modular notebook and phone concept that we sadly won’t be seeing any time soon.

As you can see from the pictures below, the Frame 0 concept consists of two parts, the main notebook and a smaller device that can be detached and operates independently as a mobile phone. When attached to the main notebook it acts as the numerical keypad, but it also extends the screen to make it wider than normally.

We presume the mobile phone part also acts as the wireless data solution, be it on a 3G or 4G network. The both devices are the width of an A4 paper, but this makes the handset part rather large, even as a flip phone. The handset part also appears to have a secondary screen just above the keypad, although it’s not clear why this is needed.

Fujitsu has an interesting view of the future of mobile computing, but considering the screen bezels we’re stuck with on most devices today, it feels like this type of technology is still a good few years away into the future.
