Boy Genius Report has gotten their hands on the RIM BlackBerry 9700 and if this is the BlackBerry you’ve been waiting for, then you haven’t waited in vain as this truly is a flagship handset.
The 9700 is set to replace the Bold as RIM’s top of the range offering and despite the handsets smaller physical size, it still manages to pack some serious features. The design alone is suggested to be enough of an improvement to validate an upgrade over the old Bold, as long as you’re looking for a slimmer, sleeker handset that is.

The screen is said to be the best of any RIM device to date, although the 480×360 resolution are lagging behind keyboard less Smartphones. Again, the keyboard is also said to be the best so far from RIM.
It has all the features people have wanted to see in a BlackBerry such as 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, a 3.2 Megapixel camera (uhm, wouldn’t people have wanted to see something a bit better here? Ed.), a faster CPU, trackpad instead of trackball (and this one is meant to work really well) and finally a 3.5mm audio jack.
