The much rumoured EeePC 1201HA has finally gotten a step closer to becoming official, as Notebook Italia has gotten their hands on several pictures of this upcoming 12-inch netbook from Asus. It's based on the Seashell design from the 1008 and 1005-series, although due to its larger size, the Seashell design doesn't seem to make it look as its 10-inch siblings.

We're still missing a lot of solid details as to what hardware will be inside the 1201HA as the earlier speculations were refuted by Asus. However, what is known is that it will come with a larger than usual netbook size hard drive, as Asus has outfitted it with a 250GB SATA hard drive. It will also come with a 6-cell battery that should be good for up to 8h of usage.

The 1201HA will be available in black, silver, blue and red and it will feature a full-size chicklet keyboard rather than the smaller type of keyboards normally found on netbooks. We're not quite sure if it fits in the netbook category though and it wasn't long ago that Asus said it won't be making EeePC's with screen over 10-inches, but as the market changes, so must companies to stay competitive.
