Acer issues recall for five Aspire models
Acer has issued a recall of five different Aspire notebook models due to an overheating issue with the microphone cable. Yes folks, you read that correctly, it's not a battery related issue, instead it's something rather bizarre.
It all comes down to pressure on the left wrist rest and if too much pressure is applied, the microphone cable can overheat and cause deformation to the notebook chassis or even cause the notebook to fail.
The affected models are the Aspire AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG, all manufactured before the 15th of September 2009.
Acer will of course repair models affected free of charge and you can check if you might be affected by this problem here
