Acer F1 launch to coincide with WM6.5
Acer has shown of the F1, one in a range of new Smartphones from the company that are expected to launch later this year and Register Hardware has now confirmed that the F1 is set to launch in October.
However, Register Hardware has now had confirmation from a source within Acer that the handset launch will coincide with Windows Mobile 6.5 which is set to be unveiled on October 6th. Register Hardware also managed to dig up some dirt on the handset specs thanks to online retailer Clove.
What we're looking at is a 3.8-inch screen with WVGA resolution (that should be 800x480 pixels), a Qualcomm 8250 processor that is clocked at no less than 1GHz, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, A-GPS, a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, an accelerometer, a micro SD card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack and of course Windows Mobile 6.5.

The Acer F1 operates on all four GSM bands as well as 900, 1,900 and 2,100MHz for 3G with support for 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA. The handset weighs in at 130g with the 1,350mAh battery and measures 118.6 x 63 x 12mm (HxWxD).
Clove is listing it for a pre-order price of a not inconsiderable £339.25 (€375/$555). You can pre-order the handset here
